I'm Abby Abisogun. I am a wife, mother, triple board-certified Endocrinologist, Physician Coach, and Entrepreneur.
After 5 years in private practice as an Endocrinologist, I was burnt out. Administrators were constantly pushing me to see more patients in less time with inadequate support. I spent much of my free time charting and catching up on work. I constantly felt behind and overwhelmed. My schedule was booked out for six to nine months at a time. Planning for family vacations or special events was disastrous. I had no control over my time. The joy I initially found in patient care was replaced with exhaustion, overwhelm, and hopelessness. I was no longer myself and I felt trapped.
I knew all along that the patients were not the issue. In fact, the patients kept me going. However, the system I was operating within was broken. It did not work for me and it certainly did not work for my patients. In early 2021, I decided to step away from conventional, insurance-based practice altogether. I opened my cash-based practice, Shoreline Endocrinology, later that year. Within three months of opening, my practice was profitable. By the end of year one in business, I had generated multiple six figures in gross revenue even though I reduced my patient volume by 65% and my clinical hours by 30%. I have gained the freedom, flexibility, and fulfillment that I was missing for 5 years in conventional private practice. I am committed to showing other physicians that they too can practice medicine on their own terms and make money doing it.

My Background
I was born in Liberia, West Africa and immigrated to the U.S. at a young age due to the civil war in my country. My family came here in the pursuit of freedom and opportunity. I grew up in the suburbs of Minneapolis, completed my undergraduate studies at Loyola in Baltimore, and earned my medical degree from Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey. After completing Internal Medicine residency at Brown University, I went on to Duke University School of Medicine for subspecialty training in Endocrinology. I am board-certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Diabetes, & Metabolism. I am also Endocrine-certified in Neck Ultrasound. I have been in practice since 2016 and cured my burnout by starting my own profitable, cash-based practice. You can do this with the right guidance. Work with me and I will show you the way.
